Purple Adansonii Planter Collab with Ryan Rahkshan (ends 1/5/25)
Last summer, my friend Ryan Rahkshan from Midnight Ceramics threw this big planter while visiting us in Portland. I then spent several months carving it, and deciding how to glaze it. It only seemed appropriate to use glazes from Midnight Ceramics, when I finally decided how I wanted it to look. A fabulous ombre was the way to go, and I love how it turned out!
Dimensions:
Planter: 9” H x 14” Diameter (top) + 7” diameter (bottom)
Saucer: 8” diameter x 1” H
We made this specifically to raise money for and awareness of Com-Fusion, the ceramics community center we are building in Portugal. All the money raised will go to a savings account which will ultimately be used to pay for rent, ceramics equipment & materials, and all the things we’ll need to get this thing off the ground and hosting artists for classes, workshops, residencies and retreats. For me, this has been a dream my whole adult life (some twenty-five plus years). We already have the space for artist residencies secured, and are negotiating space for the community center! To start we’ll use Mariana’s existing space.
