Sold Out

Diana Adams, also known by her business name SampleHAUS. She makes dope small batch pottery, such as her sought after planters and home accessories.  Her work is inspired by bold graphic African patterns and bright colors. And she also does custom portraits of people and pets on her pottery under her sub brand Journey’sHAUS. She’s a busy lady keeping her online shop stocked, filling orders for West Elm and teaching workshops and attending markets.

Another reason why I’m so grateful to her for making time to collaborate on this one-of-a-kind pair of SampleHAUS x WTW Plant Shelfie Bookends! Take a chance and buy a raffle ticket to make them yours. You’re ticket price is also a donation to the community studio equipment fundraiser. Thank you!

About the Raffle & Community Clay Studio

We made these Plant Shelfie Bookends specifically to raise money for and awareness of Com-Fusion, the ceramics community center we are building in Portugal . All the money raised will go towards purchasing ceramics equipment & materials, and all the things we’ll need to begin hosting local and international artists for classes, workshops, residencies and retreats. For me, this has been a dream my whole adult life (some twenty-five plus years). We already have the space for artist residencies secured, and are negotiating space for the community center in the SIlver Coast area of Portugal (an hour north of Lisbon)!

How to ENTER

  1. Use the drop down menu to choose 1, 3, or 5 tickets

  2. No purchase necessary to participate- you can also enter by signing up for my email list. If you’re already on the list, just send me an email to let me know, and I’ll add your name with one entry.

  3. Raffle will be open June 14- August 15. Winner announced on Instagram and email by August 21

  4. Raffle open to US, Canada, EU and UK only.

Your purchase of a raffle ticket, brings us one step closer to realizing this dream. We thank you for that and appreciate you taking a chance to have these beauties in your home.

How we make them

These are made from a 6” planter with attached saucer that Nicole throws on the potter’s wheel. She then cuts the planter in half, attaches a slab back to each half, and voila- Bookends!

Diana used underglazes to paint the bookends black while they were still leather hard. She then carves her designs inspired by graphic African patterns, before firing and glazing them.

Each half has a drainage hole and is heavy enough to hold your books up for the ultimate plant shelfie. They also have a wire hook on the back to hang on the wall (please hang on a stud).
